Boxing Day, 26th December 2009Went to Sentosa on a last mintue decision because I saw the advertising poster of the
new attractions in Sentosa at HabourFront station.
First ride was "Desperado". A theatre which can accomodate 20 people. It's like sitting on a 'bull' (actually an individual stimulator) and imagine you're the cowboy. You have to shoot the 'enemies' down and at the end of the game, it will show on the scren who has the highest score and the lowest score. The winner will only be made known at certain timing and there will be prizes..
The second ride is called "Extreme Log Ride". Again, there are about < 10 stimulators in the theatre. We have the wear the 3D glasses and imagine we're riding on a roller-coaster in a forest.
Both rides were boring and a waste of money... *Yawn*
If the prizes were to be something like "A pair of FREE admission tickets to
Desperado/Extreme Log Ride rides", I'd rather they give a "$20 voucher for dine-in at Sentosa Sakae Sushi". Muahahaha..
Anyway, dinner was at Vivo City and we went up to a ship called
Doulos, where it sell books and they called it "floating bookshop". Accordingly to
Wikipedia - MV Doulos, it's going to stop sailing by the end of Year 2009 and Singapore is their last stop.
Even though they claimed to be selling all sorts of books, but most of the books that they're selling consists of Christianity content. HMMM........ what message are they trying to get across?
What's more interesting was that, the books are selling at damn cheap prices. There are lots of colouring books for children going for eg: '5 for S$3'. Well, a good buy for parents. As for adult books, I've never seen nor heard of the authors. Even the titles are erm.....
weird? For example, "Mad Mary".
There are only a few books which I can recognise such as the novel "Narnia".
I just find it
weird la. Or maybe it's because I've never heard of a 'floating bookshop' before...
After we came down from the ship, there was a security check as required by our Singapore Police Force. Hmmm.......
Went back to Jurong and watch "Alvin & The Chipmunks 2". Damn cuteeeee! Hee heee.. By the way, I read the news today, this movie tops the British Film Chart!
Apparently, the highly rated "Avatar" wasnt the top. :/
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Woke up this morning without feeling too tired because
drama mama over at cousin E's house. Was too
stunned to feel sleepy anymore.. Haha! Well, some
stupid 'Ah Long' runner came to splash paint at her house! After splashing the paint, the runner wrote the unit number on the wall but it was NOT my cousin's house unit number!
Her brother made a police report but what can they do? Increase patrol around this neighbourhood?
I guessed the 'Ah Long(s)' changed their tactic when chasing their debtors for money. They sent their runners to splash paint at the debtors neighbour's house so that the neighbours will be angry and will try to find the debtors out. 真是缺德!
Sigh~
But I heard that my cousin's house was not the only one. Previously, there were a few cases around the neighbourhood with the same incident... Perhaps the runners do not have a choice too? Or they were very much in need of money? But still..........
Humans do the most unthinkable things out of desparation.
